Why this exists, who built it, and what we're trying to do.
The premise
Enterprise software companies have been quietly raising prices and deepening complexity for years. AI is now another lever they're using to charge more. Meanwhile, small businesses — the customers who could most benefit from AI assistance — can't afford the $200,000+ annual contracts that enterprise vendors require.
TranscendByDesign exists to close that gap. Four integrated AI-powered operations tools at small business prices, sold by someone who actually answers the email.
Who built this
I'm Tom Christian. I've spent 30 years inside corporate operations — learning & development, customer service, knowledge management, and quality — with a Master's in Education along the way. That means these products are built from the inside-out: not what an engineer imagines operations teams need, but what an operations practitioner knows they need.
I wrote the codebase myself — AI-assisted, but human-directed — and I stand behind every line. Because it's just me, fixes don't sit in a backlog: you report something, I see it, and it gets handled. Every product decision, every price, and every policy reflects what I'd want as the buyer.
A boutique software company, on purpose
TranscendByDesign is a boutique software company — a lifestyle business, not a venture bet. No investors, no IPO plan, no sales team. You'll know my name: when you escalate a support ticket, I'm the one who reads it. The plan isn't to grow at all costs and sell; it's to build something useful, support the people who pay for it, and still be here in five years answering the email.
How we work
Founder-led
AI handles the first pass on most questions — fast, and at any hour. When you need a human, you get one: escalate and the founder — the person who wrote the code — reads it and answers. There’s always a human exit.
Charter pricing, capped
The first 50 customers lock Early-Adopter pricing; the next 250 lock Founding-Member pricing. Those are Lifetime Charter rates — fixed for the life of your account, no annual hikes. After the founding cohort, standard pricing applies. The cap is on the discount, not on how much we care.
Lock-in that helps you
Lock in a price tier on your first product. That price applies to every product you ever add. We're betting on serving you for years, not extracting value in the next quarter.
Transparent
What we charge, how we built it, where the data lives, who has access — published openly. No moving goalposts, no hidden tiers, no AppSumo gotchas.
What we're not
We're not raising venture capital. We're not trying to grow at all costs. We're not building an exit narrative. We're not going to pivot to something else next year because the market shifted.
What we are: a small, focused, profitable operation aiming to serve a few hundred customers exceptionally well, for a long time.

Your data is yours
Your data belongs to you and is exportable on request. We don't sell it, mine it, or hold it hostage.
Flexible AI, never metered
Every plan includes AI up to a set limit — and we never bill you per action. Need more? You choose how: bring your own API key and run unlimited at provider cost (no markup, no lock-in), or move up to the Unlimited-AI tier and we handle it, no key to manage. You decide how to scale; there are no surprise per-use charges. That’s how we’d want a vendor to treat us.
A human is always reachable
AI resolves the bulk of questions instantly. When you escalate past it, the founder reads your ticket personally — usually within 24 hours. No dead-end bot loop, no outsourced call center.
Lifetime Charter pricing
Lock a Charter rate as an early adopter or founding member and it follows you for the life of your account — across every product you add.
Five-year guarantee + escrow
A five-year service guarantee, backed by source-code escrow. If the company ever goes away, you keep what you depend on — you're never stranded.
Plain, predictable terms
